mountain flowers

I went hiking last week with my friend Kris,
nothing serious , just a light walk up the lake.
It was so warm and gorgeous..
just at the sunset I took a few polaroids, and
I thing the lighting was fantastic, I only wish I
could catch this lighting more often.
And then my camera died, right after the 3rd shot.
Too bad, it gave such gorgeous colors, I'm sad..

mountain flowers, scorching weather

The heat is almost unbearable..not much to do outside,
can't even breath. And that's just the beginning of
at least 5 long months of day in and day out of 95-114 degrees.
I need a break from this, i do.

We escaped to Ventura on Saturday and took a 10 mile bike ride
around the Ventura beach area. It was heaven..perfect 70,
ocean air, fresh breeze..oh how I want to live there by the beach!..
I dream and think about it every day.
I stoped at this very nice gallery - Artists Union Gallery,
they had a group show, very nice different works. I'm thinking to try
and get a group show in that gallery too..i'm scared, but I'll email
for some info about it and see what happens. I'll keep you posted.
Ventura has an artistic community where I absolutely need to
get in. Because where I live there is NO culture at all, none.

I have a list of a few galleries in Ventura where I'll try a go too,
here are some links for those who is an artist and live around
Ventura, California:

Kerry Ball and her graffiti photography

Kerry Ball is my internet friend.
she is very cool, very warm, interesting person and a talented artist.
i wish i knew her in a real life, but she lives in florida and i live
in california
. may be one day we'll meet... you never know.
she takes a lot of graffiti photos,
which i think are underrated..because
to take these graffiti photos,
one would have to travel and go places,
where a lot of people wouldn't
bother to go. it takes a lot of energy and

effort, and probably could be dangerous!
i know i'm too lazy to go and try to find street art to photograph,
it IS worth it, it's beautiful..but lately i've been a little bit of a hermit,
which is another story for another day.

here are some of my favorites of Kerry's

photos by Kerry Ball

Kerry's blog, very cool, check it out.
Kerry's website, a must see.
Kerry's flickr photos.
Kerry's etsy shop.

enjoy!

artist feature III

Today I'd like to feature a photographer whose work I admire
and love very much. Her photography is clean, contemporary
and simply beautiful, with the most gorgeous lighting!
Visit her website to see quite perfect, in my opinion
portraits of newborns, the black and white pictures
are just amazing.
Be sure to check out her Shop, still life and flowers

are my favorites, colors and the light are just breath taking.

Jennifer Squires has been a photographer since 1996
and currently based out of London, Ontario, Canada.
Inspired by the world around her she uses her art to search

for simplicity and meaning in the beauty of the everyday.

Currently the collection includes roses, calla lilies, tulips, and gerberas.
These contemporary images look great in dining rooms, living areas,
bedrooms, and offices, and can be produced as large as
24x30 inches or as small as 4x6 inches.

lost pictures

i wanted to post some pictures for our rv trip, but i lost them..
probably erased by mistake.
oh well, i'll take more eventually.
i'm kind of flower crazy lately, took pictures of some
beautiful beach flowers in ventura beach at sunset.
